Day 5 | Relief

Day 5 | Relief

Rocks Pass| I may or may not be crying

After a long couple of days, I decided, well my knee decided, I needed to take it easy that day. I went about 2 or 3 miles to highway 20, and hitched into Winthrop. It took me about 30 minutes to find a ride and luckily some nice gentleman let me jump into his car. He was a backpacker too. Usually the people around here are. He decided to drive me all the way to Winthrop when he didn't need to, which was nice of him.

When I finally got to town, I stuck out like a sore thumb. It's quite hilarious actually. The town is very touristy, and people kept staring. But everyone knows what I'm doing. Everybody knows that the PCT is only 35 miles west of the town. So I either get stared at, whistled at, or questioned.

Finally got to soak my feet in hydrogen peroxide. It felt so good to do something to my feet besides just wrap medical tape around my blisters. The pain is pretty unbearable. Can't walk, all I can do is sit down and elevate my feet. Which is pretty nice.

Can't believe I'm almost 100 miles in already. It's been going by so fast. I am having a blast meeting people and hiking. But I still have so much more to go.

Best of wishes..

Cheers!
