Day 8 | Lake Chelan

Day 8 | Lake Chelan

Its my first zero day. I wasn't planning on having one for awhile but, I had too. I cant walk, my knee hurts, and my feet are pretty much one big blister. Oh, and my toenails are starting to come off. But I know this is just part of the process.

I took the ferry back into Stehekin to do my laundry and take care of my feet. While I was on the ferry, I had this realization that maybe someday, I will write a book on this experience and turn it into a cool fiction story. My mind goes in weird places when I am alone, I realized...

Today, is better. I Calmed myself down and realized that was only one day. That I am going to have so many more days to figure all of this out. I just need to regroup and figure my *&^% out.

***

When I got into town, I set up my camp, and hobbled down to do my laundry . When I got there, PCT hikers were already down there just coming in from the trailhead. I met two girls named Snail and Tule, and two guys named Hatch and Keith. They were all hilarious and just what I needed. I needed to laugh a bit, and just relax. We ended up all camping in the same area, and going out to dinner together. It was awesome to talk to people about different experiences everybody was going through.

We all decided to head out the next day together, and press on from there.

Still feeling a bit numb from this whole experience. Especially from feeling so low yesterday, but I need to remember everyday is a new day. The sun is shining, and the air is pristine. But I cant help but feel nervous for the section to come.

Its going to be the hardest, and I cant help but feel so scared.

Hopefully I will live to tell you guys about it. Haha.

Until next time,

Cheers.
