Day 9 | The 5
Day 9 | The 5
As we head out of this amazing little town of Stehekin, WA, I can't help but go through so many different types of emotions. I'm scared out of my mind. My head is running a million miles an hour, but when is it not? That's right, it always is and always will be. As I sit on the bus, I run into a little family that has very young children. They are all hiking a section of the PCT, and I couldn't help but feel so inspired! Like what the heck!! After watching the little kids struggle to lace up their hiking boots, the emotions catch up with me ,and I finally understand why I am doing this. I want to show a different side of this lifestyle. Backpacking is a beautiful thing. I say that because of all the beautiful people that change you're life and the places you can see. To inspire people to get outside and find yourselves through other/ healthier ways is the main objective of why I am out here. I never understood what that actually means until now.
We started hiking going the wrong way. Haha. What a great way of starting this section. When we found where we were supposed to go, and started trekking into the unknown... Well, unknown for us.
Hiking with these folks are awesome. Everyone has a great heart so far and it's pretty cool. We are all so different-- our backgrounds and stories. Yet, we are all so the same. Why we are here, bands us, making us stronger together. We learn from each other and grow from each others journey.
We camp tonight, only 12 miles into the section because we started later in the day. This is the best camp yet. We made a fire and just sat around talking about life. So many laughs, yet so many tears.
What a great experience.
Untill next time,
